PDF Save Dialog Opened but No File

Symptom

The PDF dialog appeared, but you cannot find the final PDF file.

Most likely cause

The save dialog was canceled, the file went to a different folder, or a browser print setting blocked the save.

Fix it

Repeat the export and save to a folder you know. If needed, use the browser’s print preview and choose Save as PDF.

What RecallBase cannot verify

RecallBase cannot detect whether the final PDF save completed or where the browser saved the file.

Why this is hard to detect

The browser owns the final print and save dialog. RecallBase prepares the printable document and opens the dialog, but the browser never tells the extension where you saved the file, whether you canceled, or whether the output went somewhere else.

Browser settings to check

Most missing PDFs come down to the destination, the folder, or the dialog state. Check that the browser was set to Save as PDF, note which folder it used, and make sure no other print destination was selected. If the dialog opened in a background window, the export may be waiting for your choice instead of failing.
