RecallBase is a local-first way to save, search, organize, and export important AI conversations, with account and billing systems kept separate from raw chat content. It is built for people who rely on AI every day, but do not want their private thinking to become another default cloud database.
Why this exists
AI work is scattered across tools, tabs, browsers, and accounts.
Useful AI conversations now contain decisions, research notes, draft language, debugging context, and half-finished ideas. But as soon as those conversations spread across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and other tools, remembering where a thread lives becomes its own job.
RecallBase is built to be a local entry point for that context: one place to save the chats that matter, find them again, and export them when you intentionally choose a destination.
Trust model
The safer default is to reduce what leaves your device.
RecallBase starts from a simple product boundary: collect less, transmit less, and make export destinations explicit. Raw AI conversation text stays on your device by default, and export happens only when you choose where it should go.
- Website account, billing, analytics, and entitlement checks are designed not to receive raw conversation text.
- Local saves and Markdown export stay useful without requiring an account.
- Support requests should not include raw chats, tokens, cookies, local files, raw DOM, or sensitive screenshots.
- RecallBase does not sell user data, run ads, or treat conversation content as a cloud data asset.
Product focus
An AI conversation management layer you control.
The product focus is intentionally narrow: capture important chats, keep them searchable, and make clean exports to formats and tools people already use.

Product boundaries
RecallBase is not a chat client or default cloud backup.
RecallBase is independent and unaffiliated with the AI products it supports. It is built around save-and-export workflows, not replacing the AI apps themselves.
That boundary matters: the website can operate account and subscription features without receiving the raw prompts, answers, local paths, files, cookies, tokens, DOM, or screenshots that belong on your machine.
Business model
The product should be funded by users, not by their data.
RecallBase keeps the free workflow useful with local saves and Markdown export. Pro exists to fund ongoing maintenance, export quality, and support as AI products keep changing their interfaces.
