Supported page state

RecallBase expects a real conversation page, not a home page, account page, settings page, or empty composer. Unsupported pages should show a clear unsupported state instead of saving the wrong content.

CLI support is documented separately

The RecallBase CLI is published on npm for supported local coding-agent histories. It is a separate open-source, local-only product surface with its own installation guide and public source repository. The browser app list below does not describe CLI source support.

Supported browser apps

RecallBase works on real conversation pages in supported AI products, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, Doubao, Yuanbao, Perplexity, NotebookLM, AI Studio, and Copilot. Support depends on page structure the extension can safely recognize. Home pages, settings pages, billing pages, and search pages are not treated as conversations.

How to check a page

Open a real conversation with visible messages and wait for the page to finish loading. Detection has two visible signals: the floating button appears at the right edge of the page, and the popup shows Current chat export actions. On an unsupported page, the popup says “Visit a supported AI chat to start capturing.” If a page that should work shows that message, refresh it, confirm it is a conversation URL, and check whether the AI product recently changed its interface.

When an app changes

AI apps change their front-end markup frequently. A page that worked before can temporarily fail detection after a product update. Do not force an export from the wrong page. Use the troubleshooting guide, and report the app name, browser, and RecallBase extension version without sharing conversation text.
