Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of RecallBase — local-first AI conversation archive, including the website, accounts, subscriptions, browser extension, local app, export features, documentation, and related services.
Last updated: June 13, 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
By accessing or using RecallBase, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use RecallBase.
2. Service description
RecallBase helps you save, search, organize, and export AI conversations from supported tools. RecallBase is local-first by default: AI conversation archives are stored on your device unless you choose to export or send them elsewhere.
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit parts of the service at any time, including free limits, supported platforms, export formats, and paid features.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use RecallBase. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use RecallBase only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. RecallBase is not directed to children under 13, and you may not use RecallBase if you are under 13.
4. Accounts and security
- You may need an account to access subscriptions, billing, entitlement checks, or paid features.
- You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate account and billing information and keep it up to date.
- You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
5. Free and paid plans
RecallBase may offer free features, paid subscriptions, usage limits, watermarked exports, and plan-specific feature access. Free limits and Pro features may change over time.
- Paid subscriptions renew for the billing interval and price shown at checkout, plus applicable taxes, until canceled.
- You must cancel before the next renewal date to avoid the next charge.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.
- As digital products, fees are generally non-refundable and we do not provide credits for partial billing periods. As a goodwill exception, if you are not satisfied with Pro you may request a refund within 72 hours of your purchase by contacting support@recallbase.net, except where a longer period is required by law.
- We may change subscription prices or features with advance notice before the change applies to your next renewal.
- Stripe processes payments and may collect billing details under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
- You can cancel through the account page, billing portal, or by contacting support.
- If payment fails, we may suspend or limit paid features until payment is resolved.
6. Local data, exports, and third-party services
You control the content you save locally and the destinations you choose for exports. When you export content to a file, app, workspace, or third-party service, you are responsible for confirming that the destination is appropriate for that content.
Third-party platforms, AI tools, browsers, extension stores, payment processors, and export destinations are not controlled by RecallBase. Their own terms, privacy policies, limits, and availability may apply.
7. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Use RecallBase for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive activity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to RecallBase systems, accounts, APIs, or infrastructure.
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass security or entitlement controls.
- Upload, transmit, or distribute malware, malicious code, or content that violates another person's rights.
- Use RecallBase to collect or process personal information without a lawful basis or required consent.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit paid features unless we give written permission.
8. Ownership and license
RecallBase, including its website, software, design, documentation, branding, and original content, is owned by RecallBase or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Your AI conversations, local archives, and exports remain yours or belong to the applicable rights holder. RecallBase does not need rights to locally stored content for account, billing, or entitlement checks. If you intentionally send content to support or use an export feature that transmits content to a destination you choose, you grant us only the limited rights needed to complete that requested action.
9. Third-party brands
ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini, Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, Notion, Obsidian, and related marks are trademarks of their respective owners. References to third-party tools, services, apps, and marks are for compatibility, interoperability, export, or descriptive purposes only. RecallBase is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those owners.
10. Privacy boundary
Website auth, billing, /api/me, analytics, and extension-token APIs do not receive raw AI conversation text, prompts, answers, local file paths, filenames, raw DOM, sensitive screenshots, or third-party credentials such as cookies, access tokens, API keys, or session secrets from AI services. These systems may process RecallBase account sessions, security cookies, billing identifiers, and extension entitlement tokens as needed to operate the service.
Do not send raw or sensitive conversation exports through support. If diagnostics are needed, provide only the minimum redacted sample requested, with secrets, personal data, local paths, filenames, third-party cookies, access tokens, raw DOM, and sensitive screenshots removed.
11. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you allow us to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, while you keep ownership of any rights you already have in it.
12. Disclaimers
RecallBase is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RecallBase will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill arising from or related to your use of RecallBase.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to RecallBase will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid to us for RecallBase in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RecallBase and its officers, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of RecallBase, your content, your exports, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to RecallBase if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, fail to pay amounts due, or misuse the service. You may stop using RecallBase at any time and may cancel paid subscriptions through the available billing flow.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update this page and may provide additional notice through the website or by email. Your continued use of RecallBase after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
18. Contact
