Remove export watermarks

Why watermarks exist

Watermarks mark the difference between Free and Pro exports. Local saves and Markdown export stay unlimited either way.

Refresh Pro status

After upgrading, reopen the extension or use Refresh Pro status on the Account page in settings so it picks up your new plan.

Which exports are affected

Watermarks apply to visual outputs: the PDF footer and the image watermark. Markdown stays clean and unlimited. Word, Notion, and other exports follow their own Free and Pro limits.

After upgrading

The extension needs your current plan status before it can remove watermarks. Reopen the extension, use Refresh Pro status, or reconnect the account if needed. If the website shows Pro but the extension still acts like Free, use the Pro troubleshooting guide before repeating paid export workflows.

How to verify the watermark is gone

Test with a short, non-sensitive conversation first. Refresh Pro status, export a small PDF or image, and check the result before sharing it. For PDF, check the footer in the preview or saved file. For image, check the PNG itself. If the output still looks like a Free export, confirm the same account is signed in on the website and linked in the extension.

What does not change

Removing a watermark does not move saved conversations to RecallBase servers, and it does not change where exported files go. The output still lands in your downloads, print dialog, clipboard, or chosen app. Treat each export as a local document and store it in a folder you control.
